Betting 101: Singles, Multis & Same Game Multis

Sportsbook Markets Overview

Sportsbook markets let you place bets in two main ways — Single Legs or Multi Bets. When you select more than one single leg, your bet slip will automatically display a multi-bet price.

Single Legs

A single leg is one individual bet on a market of your choice. This could be:

  • Match betting – picking the winner of a game.

  • Player-specific markets – e.g., who will score first.

Multi Bets

A multi bet combines multiple single legs into one larger bet. The odds of each leg are multiplied together to create your total odds. The more legs you add, the higher the odds (and the higher the risk).

How it works:

  1. Multiply the odds of each leg.

  2. Multiply the total odds by your stake to get your potential payout.

Example:
You stake $10 on the following multi bet:

  • Manchester City to win vs Liverpool — $1.70

  • Western Bulldogs to win vs North Melbourne — $1.30

  • Melbourne Storm to win vs Penrith Panthers — $2.05

  • Denver Nuggets to win vs Miami Heat — $1.50

Total odds:
$1.70 × $1.30 × $2.05 × $1.50 = $6.80

Potential winnings:
$10 × $6.80 = $68

Same Game Multi

A Same Game Multi lets you combine multiple legs from the same match or event (available on selected sports and competitions).

These bets are calculated differently from regular multi bets, because each leg in the same game can influence the others. Traders provide composite odds that take this interrelationship into account.
